Experience the Difference
The water has dropped and sadly the 2017 rafting season is over. Thanks to all of the locals, Returning Guests and brand new rafters for making this another great season. Our new boaters bar and grill, The Drift In, was a big success and we've had many "regulars" over the season floating in and launching at the "Drift". We are taking bookings for the 2018 season starting in next May, SEE YOU THEN!
Independent Whitewater is Salida's local rafting connection on the Arkansas River . Considered one of the best rafting trips in the country, Browns Canyon is always a great experience for everyone. Families, beginners, and experienced rafters will all enjoy exhilarating class III rapids and amazing scenery in this remote granite canyon. Regardless of river levels, this gem always delivers on the promise of fun and excitement. Plus, with Independent Whitewater, you get two extra rapids and can experience all of the Brown's Canyon National Monument on a half-day trip, thanks to our private takeout! Other companies use a public access point, causing rafters to miss two of the best rapids in the canyon, Seidel's Suckhole and Twin Falls. Our guides love these rapids, and we bet you will, too! When you decide to come rafting with us, keep in mind that the majority of our trips end on our exclusive riverside properties away from the other rafting crowds. That means access to more rapids that other rafting companies don't run on comparable trips. When you compare price, trip length and number of whitewater rapids, you'll find that we have the other companies beat in all categories. Not only that, you can enjoy our riverfront property for picnics, events and camping.
